Of the many women doing work to grow tomato and using these shears, one said that shears need three points for women to use easily and in comfort: sharpness of blade, a comfortable shape which reduces hand pain and a strong spring.
They are using the shears during the Tasty Tomato Harvest. |

| These tomatoes are grown in a greenhouse in Hokkaido. Their taste is sweet and fruity. Women mainly use the T-500 while men more often use the slightly larger T-600. Many commented that Chikamasa Shears remain as sharp as when brand new even after long term use. |

| This shear is used in Hokkaido, the region which grows the most onions in all of Japan. Recently, more works have been automated, but much is still done by hand. Onion growers use this product to cut the leaves and roots of the onion plant. They need a strong blade since they have to cut leaves and roots with soil. They said the Chikamasa Shear is durable long and does not make their hands tired as compared to other brands of shears they have tried. |
